Our Commitment

The Lupus Initiative is a program conceived by Garth Graham, MD, MPH, Deputy Assistant Secretary Office of Minority Health, and spearheaded by the Office of Minority Health (OMH) along with the Office on Women’s Health (OWH) and the Office of the Surgeon General. The goal of The Initiative is to improve diagnosis, treatment, and management of lupus and associated diseases and conditions among populations disproportionately affected based on race, ethnicity, and gender. The Initiative’s mission is to educate medical professionals in training and in practice because they are inimitably positioned to make a difference.
