Lupus Information

Do you often feel extremely tired, even after a full night’s sleep? Have you noticed you’re losing your hair? Do you get pale or purple fingers or toes from cold or stress? Do you sometimes have a fever over 100º F with no apparent cause? Does anyone in your family have lupus? These are just some of the telltale signs of lupus. To see other signs and symptoms of lupus, click on the link below.

Lupus is 6 to 10 times more likely to be found in women than in men and affects women of color (African Americans, Hispanic Americans/Latinas, Asian Americans, and Native Americans) 2 to 3 times more often than women of European descent. Now that you know the signs of lupus, you can take action.

It's important for you to know that lupus is a manageable disease. With proper diagnosis and treatment, the disease is now more manageable than in years past. People with lupus have the chance to live full and productive lives.

If you suspect you may have or be at risk for lupus, see your doctor right away. That's the only way to help manage it.
